CLUE+ Funding

PLEASE NOTE THE NEW CLUE+ CORONA CALL FOR PROPOSALS BELOW.

CLUE+ is the interfaculty research institute for culture, cognition, history and heritage, based at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It brings together researchers from a wide variety of academic disciplines within four VU faculties to jointly investigate common themes and to reflect upon and formulate strategies towards societal challenges. To that end, CLUE+ offers its staff assistance in organizing scientific meetings, putting together grant applications, forming consortia and undertaking valorization initiatives, amongst other things. It also offers financial support for a range of initiatives and activities. In the Funding Guide we provide information on the various funding opportunities, on how to apply, and on the application criteria and process.

Visit the Funding Guide (pdf.) here.

Please see the menu below for more information about the types of funding available and the application process.

Due to the Corona crisis, CLUE+ has decided to change its funding policy temporarily, at least for the remaining months of 2020. With a significant drop in opportunities for corona sensitive activities like conferences, workshops, lecture series, fellowships and travel grants, for the rest of 2020 we would like to prioritize instead the following, less corona sensitive actions, under the banner of the CLUE+ CORONA CALL:

  1. Writing proposals to participate in (large) research calls;
  2. Research assistants;
  3. Open access publications in peer reviewed (online) journals or (book) series;
  4. Valorisation activities.

Deadline for submission proposals: 1 October 2020
Selection of winning proposals: 1st week of October 2020
Cashing funding amount: October - December 2020

Ad 1. Writing proposals to participate in (large) research calls.

The calls can be either programmatic (e.g. H2020, NWA, NWO Large) or individual ones (e.g. NWO Open Competition, Innovation scheme; ERC).

The CLUE+ grant, of € 3.000,-, will allow you to fund your replacement of your education tasks during the time that you are preparing your grant application.

Proposals will be prioritized that have an interdisciplinary focus and link up with the main CLUE+ VU profile theme of Connected World, as described here.
